kate friend
Kate Friend is our current Chairperson and original founder of the Berowra Sustainability Co-Operative.
Kate has remained as the BSC Chairperson over the past 4 years, and with the help of this group, continues to help work on practical solutions to climate change and sustainability through a variety of local incentives and educational seminars.
Outside of the BSC, Kate is a scientist and business owner, a singer in two local bands, and a mother to three beautiful children.

Gavin is a local Berowra dad, involved in a number of different clubs and associations, including Apex, coaching basketball and the Berowra Sustainability Co-op.
Gavin runs his own business advising on the development, construction and operation of large solar farms.
He spends as much as his free time as he can playing bass guitar and drums or walking in the Berowra bushland.

Alex is a Berowra dad with three young kids and passionate about sustainability. In his day job he is a Sustainability Consultant with a background in energy efficiency and embodied carbon. In his free time he loves to talk beer and home-brewing and spending time outside.

Sarah has a background as a primary school teacher and has worked with children in different capacities since leaving formal education. Sarah’s passions are Permaculture, supporting children and art and she is currently building her garden up to become a therapeutic space to support children within and share with others.
