about us
background
The BSC is made up of volunteer local residents interested in fostering a more sustainable future and supporting a positive response to climate change and the transition to renewables.
In early 2020 Kate Friend realised that federal inaction on climate change was best dealt with by local action. Environmental change could be driven locally. Support within the Berowra community resulted in over 20 like-minded people attending the first meeting in Feb 2020. Through monthly meetings, presentations and activities, the BSC has established its name as a key agent for environmental change within the Berowra community.
mission
The key goal of the BSC is to work towards a positive response to climate change and to promote the uptake of renewable energy. We want to help local households to reduce their carbon emissions and thus contribute to global decarbonisation.
Through activities, information, education and advocacy, the BSC aims to help embed sustainable practices within the local community.
